The Sentinel of Mengzhou has finally arrived.

Hsin, the newest five star Resonator in Wuthering Waves, is now playable with Version 3.7, “Prism’s Illusion, Heart’s Illumination.” As a five star Electro Rectifier, Hsin brings a unique playstyle built around two combat forms, two Resonance Modes, Resonance Skill damage, and Coordinated Attacks. Kuro Games officially identifies her as a main DPS who specializes in Resonance Skill DMG, Coordinated Attacks, Unison, and Electro Flare.

Unlike some characters who require completely different builds depending on how they are played, Hsin’s equipment remains remarkably consistent between her Unison and Electro Flare routes. What changes most is the team surrounding her.

For players who pulled Hsin, the good news is that her build is fairly straightforward: stack Crit, Electro DMG, and ATK, use the Heart of Sworn Vigil Sonata set, and prioritize her signature Rectifier if you want to maximize her damage.

Here is how to build Hsin in Wuthering Waves Version 3.7.

Hsin’s Playstyle

Hsin is primarily an on field Electro DPS, but she can continue contributing after leaving the field through her Coordinated Attacks.

Her gameplay begins in Answering Form, where she builds her Answering Heart resource through her attacks. Once the resource is full, Hsin can enter her special state and progress toward her second combat form.

Her Resonance Liberation allows her to shift into Illumining Form, where she gains access to the Edict resource. Edict is particularly important because Hsin can consume its stacks to summon Soaring Pillars as Coordinated Attacks when the active Resonator deals damage.

This gives Hsin an interesting combination of on field and off field damage.

She can remain on the field to perform her own powerful Resonance Skill attacks, but she can also leave behind additional damage for her teammates to trigger.

Unison vs. Electro Flare

One of the most important things to understand about Hsin is that she can operate through two Resonance Modes:

Unison

Electro Flare

The two modes change how Hsin interacts with her teammates, but fortunately they do not require completely different Echo builds.

Unison

The Unison route is designed around characters who can interact with Hsin’s Unison mechanics.

This makes Suoming one of her most natural partners. A premium Unison team can use:

Hsin + Suoming + Shorekeeper

This setup gives Hsin a second strong Electro character who can interact with the Unison system while Shorekeeper provides healing and additional team support.

Electro Flare

The Electro Flare route instead wants characters who can help apply or take advantage of Electro Flare and its associated effects.

A strong example is:

Hsin + Electro Rover + Suisui

Electro Rover provides the appropriate Electro Flare synergy while Suisui supplies support and sustain.

The important takeaway is that you should generally choose your team first and then decide which Hsin mode fits that team.

Best Weapon: Blooming Jadehaven

Hsin’s signature weapon is Blooming Jadehaven, a five star Rectifier and easily her best overall weapon.

At Level 90, Blooming Jadehaven provides:

588 Base ATK

24.3% Crit Rate

Its passive begins with a 12% All Attribute DMG Bonus. After Hsin inflicts Electro Flare or triggers a Unison Response, her Resonance Skill DMG is amplified by 36%, while that damage also ignores 10% of the target’s Electro RES at R1. The weapon additionally increases the Electro Flare damage enemies take while Hsin is active.

That is an unusually good match for Hsin because so much of her damage comes from Resonance Skill attacks.

Blooming Jadehaven therefore does not simply provide better stats. It directly enhances the mechanics that make Hsin powerful.

Best Alternative Weapons

You do not need Blooming Jadehaven to use Hsin effectively.

Lethean Elegy is one of her strongest five star alternatives. It provides Crit Rate and additional Resonance Skill DMG while also offering DEF ignore after its conditions are met.

Stringmaster is another excellent option, particularly because its high Crit Rate makes building Hsin’s Crit ratio easier. Its passive can also provide additional ATK after Resonance Skill hits.

For a standard five star option, Cosmic Ripples can function as an ATK focused stat stick.

For players working with four star weapons, Fusion Accretion can serve as a more accessible fallback.

In simple terms, the weapon priority is:

Blooming Jadehaven > Lethean Elegy > Stringmaster > Cosmic Ripples > Fusion Accretion

The exact gap depends on your Echo quality and which weapon passives you can consistently activate.

Best Echo Set: Heart of Sworn Vigil

Hsin’s best Sonata Effect is the new five piece Heart of Sworn Vigil set.

The set is essentially designed around Hsin’s mechanics. When the character applies Electro Flare, gains Unison, or triggers a Unison Response, the set provides 15% Crit Rate and 22.5% Electro DMG for 30 seconds.

Because both of Hsin’s major playstyles can activate the set naturally, there is little reason to build a separate Echo set depending on whether you are playing Unison or Electro Flare.

This is one of the biggest advantages of the current Hsin build.

Best Main Echo

The recommended main Echo is:

Reminiscence: Suhsin the Inevitable

This new Echo fits Hsin’s kit and the Heart of Sworn Vigil set particularly well. Current in game build recommendations list Suhsin the Inevitable as Hsin’s recommended main Echo.

If you are farming Hsin from scratch, this should be one of your primary Echo targets.

Best Echo Configuration

Hsin wants the familiar 4-3-3-1-1 configuration:

4 Cost: Crit Rate or Crit DMG

3 Cost: Electro DMG Bonus

3 Cost: Electro DMG Bonus

1 Cost: ATK%

1 Cost: ATK%

This setup maximizes the combination of Crit, Electro damage, and ATK that Hsin needs for her Resonance Skill focused kit.

However, there is one important consideration when choosing your 4 Cost Echo.

If your weapon already provides substantial Crit Rate, such as Blooming Jadehaven, Lethean Elegy, or Stringmaster, a Crit DMG 4 Cost can make balancing your Crit stats easier.

If you are using a weapon without Crit Rate, a Crit Rate 4 Cost is usually the safer starting point.

Echo Main Stat Priority

Your main stats should generally look like this:

4 Cost: Crit Rate / Crit DMG

3 Cost: Electro DMG Bonus

3 Cost: Electro DMG Bonus

1 Cost: ATK%

1 Cost: ATK%

This is one area where Hsin is fairly conventional for an Electro DPS.

You want to maximize her Crit output while giving her enough Electro DMG and ATK to scale her Resonance Skill attacks.

Hsin’s Substats

For substats, prioritize:

Crit Rate / Crit DMG > ATK% > Resonance Skill DMG Bonus > ATK

Energy Regen is also useful, especially if you find that her Liberation rotation is inconsistent.

The official Wuthering Waves guide currently recommends at least 118% Energy Regen, while other current build references place a comfortable target around 120% to 125%.

You should not sacrifice large amounts of Crit or ATK simply to push Energy Regen excessively high. The goal is to make Hsin’s rotation comfortable while maintaining her damage stats.

Recommended Hsin Stats

A strong endgame Hsin should aim for roughly:

Crit Rate: 75%+

Crit DMG: 265%+

Energy Regen: 118%+

These are practical targets rather than hard requirements. The exact Crit balance will depend heavily on your weapon.

For example, Blooming Jadehaven already supplies 24.3% Crit Rate, while Heart of Sworn Vigil can provide another 15% when its conditions are active.

That means players using her signature weapon can often afford to focus more heavily on Crit DMG through their Echoes and substats.

Skill Upgrade Priority

Hsin’s most important damage comes from her Forte Circuit and Resonance Skill mechanics, while her Resonance Liberation is also an important part of her transformation and overall rotation.

A practical upgrade priority is:

Forte Circuit → Resonance Skill → Resonance Liberation → Basic Attack → Intro Skill

Her Forte Circuit is especially important because it governs the resources and special attacks that define her combat flow.

Her Resonance Skill should also receive high priority because a significant portion of her damage is classified as Resonance Skill DMG.

Hsin’s Best Team: Unison

For the Unison route, one of the strongest teams currently recommended is:

Hsin + Suoming + Shorekeeper

Suoming is particularly valuable because the two characters can interact with the Unison system, while Shorekeeper provides the sustain and support needed to keep the team functioning during longer fights.

This is the team to consider if you want to build around Hsin’s Unison mechanics and have the premium roster available.

Hsin Electro Flare Team

For Electro Flare, a strong team is:

Hsin + Electro Rover + Chisa

Hsin remains the primary damage dealer, while Electro Rover handles much of the Electro Flare application. Chisa then expands the Electro Flare ceiling and provides additional offensive support.

There is a tradeoff, however. Current team guides note that Chisa’s version of the setup can be more rotation intensive than using Suisui. That means the choice between Chisa and Suisui is not simply about one character replacing another.

Suisui is the more straightforward option for players who want healing and a smoother rotation.

Chisa is an attractive alternative for players who already have her built and want additional offensive utility from the support slot. This also makes Hsin and Chisa an especially interesting pairing for players who pulled both characters during Version 3.7’s first phase.

Hsin + Suoming + Suisui

Electro Rover is particularly important because he can apply Electro Flare and directly interact with Hsin’s kit. His Intro Skill also provides an Electro DMG bonus to both characters, while he can contribute ATK and All DMG amplification to Hsin.

Suisui then provides healing and increases the team’s Negative Status potential, making her a natural support for this particular composition.

This is the team to use if you want an easier Electro Flare rotation.

F2P Hsin Team

Players who do not have the premium characters can still build a functional Hsin team. A more accessible setup is:

Hsin + Electro Rover + Buling

This gives Hsin an Electro Flare partner while using a lower investment support option.

It will not match the performance of Hsin’s premium teams, but it gives players a way to take advantage of her mechanics without needing an expensive roster.

How to Play Hsin

Hsin’s rotation revolves around building her resources, entering the appropriate combat form, and taking advantage of her Resonance Skill damage.

A simplified approach looks like:

Support setup → Hsin enters → build Answering Heart → activate Realm Wanderer → use Resonance Liberation → enter Illumining Form → build/use Edict → trigger Soaring Pillars → execute Hsin’s enhanced attacks → swap out when appropriate

The exact sequence changes depending on whether you are using Unison or Electro Flare.

One of the most important things to remember is that Hsin’s mode should match her team. Switching between modes can clear the mode specific effects you have accumulated, so randomly changing routes in the middle of a rotation can reduce her efficiency.

Making the Most of Her Coordinated Attacks

Hsin’s ability to contribute Coordinated Attacks is one of the most interesting parts of her kit.

During Illumining Form, her Edict resource allows her to summon Soaring Pillars after the active Resonator deals damage. This means that Hsin does not necessarily need to remain on the field for every part of her damage cycle.

This also explains why her team choices matter so much.

Characters who attack frequently or can interact with her specific mode can help Hsin convert her off field resources into additional damage.

Common Hsin Build Mistakes

The first mistake is using an ATK focused Echo configuration without enough Crit.

Hsin certainly wants ATK, but Crit is extremely important for maximizing her damage. Her dedicated Sonata Effect also provides additional Crit Rate, making a properly balanced Crit build particularly effective.

The second mistake is ignoring Energy Regen entirely.

Hsin’s Resonance Liberation is important to her transformation and overall combat flow. The official build recommendation currently places her at 118%+ Energy Regen, so reaching a comfortable level should be part of the build process.

The third mistake is treating Unison and Electro Flare as completely separate characters.

They are different playstyles, but the actual Echo and weapon build is largely the same. The bigger difference is which teammates you bring.

Finally, do not choose Hsin’s mode randomly. Your team should determine whether you are building around Unison or Electro Flare.

Final Hsin Build

For a quick reference, here is the build to work toward:

Character: Hsin

Rarity: 5 Star

Element: Electro

Weapon: Rectifier

Role: Main DPS / Coordinated Attack DPS

Best Weapon: Blooming Jadehaven

Best Alternatives: Lethean Elegy, Stringmaster

Budget Options: Cosmic Ripples, Fusion Accretion

Best Sonata: 5 Piece Heart of Sworn Vigil

4 Cost: Crit Rate / Crit DMG

3 Cost: Electro DMG Bonus + Electro DMG Bonus

1 Cost: ATK% + ATK%

Substats: Crit Rate / Crit DMG > ATK% > Resonance Skill DMG Bonus > ATK

Energy Regen: 118%+ recommended

Crit Rate: 75%+ target

Crit DMG: 265%+ target

Unison Team: Hsin + Suoming + Shorekeeper

Electro Flare Team: Hsin + Electro Rover + Suisui

F2P Team: Hsin + Electro Rover + Buling

Skill Priority: Forte Circuit → Resonance Skill → Resonance Liberation → Basic Attack → Intro Skill

Final Thoughts

Hsin is a fascinating addition to Wuthering Waves because she manages to function as both a powerful on field Electro DPS and a character capable of contributing Coordinated Attacks after leaving the field.

Her build itself is thankfully much less complicated than her kit might initially suggest. Heart of Sworn Vigil, a 4-3-3-1-1 Echo setup, Crit, Electro DMG, ATK, and enough Energy Regen to maintain her rotation form the foundation of her build.

Her signature Blooming Jadehaven takes the build even further by directly improving her Resonance Skill damage and enhancing the Electro Flare route. However, players without the weapon can still use alternatives such as Lethean Elegy and Stringmaster effectively.

The bigger decision is deciding how you want to play Hsin.

If you want to focus on Unison, Suoming is one of her best partners. If you want to play around Electro Flare, Electro Rover provides a much more accessible pairing. Either way, Hsin’s dedicated Echo set means you can build her once and comfortably switch between her two combat styles.

With Version 3.7 now live and Hsin available in Phase I alongside returning Resonators Chisa and Iuno, the Moon Fox has officially become one of the major faces of Mengzhou’s newest chapter.
