Jingran has arrived in Wuthering Waves Version 3.6, bringing a very different approach to the Fusion DPS role. Unlike most damage dealers who primarily want ATK, Jingran’s kit revolves around Max HP, Critical stats, shields, and Heavy Attacks. That makes him one of the more unusual characters to build, especially if you are used to giving your main DPS as much ATK and elemental damage as possible.
Jingran is a five star Fusion Broadblade Resonator who entered the game during the second phase of Version 3.6. His unique HP scaling means that building him correctly requires paying attention to a few stats and mechanics that would normally be secondary for a DPS.
If you have recently pulled Jingran and are wondering where to start, here is a complete build guide covering his weapons, Echoes, stats, skill priorities, teams, and basic rotation.
Jingran’s Playstyle
Jingran is designed as an on field Fusion main DPS whose damage is heavily concentrated around his Heavy Attacks. His kit uses a resource called Qi, which he generates through his attacks before spending it on enhanced Heavy Attacks.
This is important because Jingran is not a character you simply swap onto the field, press every ability once, and immediately leave. His rotation is built around generating enough Qi and then converting that resource into powerful Heavy Attack finishers.
His HP scaling is another defining part of the character. Rather than treating HP as a defensive stat, Jingran turns his Max HP into offensive value. His kit also has a fixed 0 DEF, making shields and healing particularly valuable when keeping him alive during his extended field time.
That combination gives Jingran a very specific build philosophy:
Max HP first, then Crit and Heavy Attack focused damage.
Best Weapon for Jingran
Jingran’s signature Broadblade is Thousandfold Deliverance, and it is the weapon you should target if you want to maximize his performance.
The biggest reason is its enormous 72.2% HP secondary stat at level 90. Since Jingran’s kit directly benefits from Max HP, this weapon contributes significantly toward the HP threshold he wants while also providing offensive bonuses designed around his Heavy Attacks and shields.
Thousandfold Deliverance also provides All Attribute DMG Bonus and builds additional offensive effects when Jingran gains shields. Its effects further improve his Critical and Heavy Attack performance, while another effect allows his Heavy Attacks to ignore a portion of enemy DEF.
In other words, the weapon does not simply give Jingran more damage. It directly supports almost every important part of his kit.
Best Weapon Options
If you do not have Thousandfold Deliverance, there are still usable alternatives.
Thunderflare Dominion is one of his strongest five star alternatives, followed by Verdant Summit. Radiance Cleaver is another option for players looking for a permanent five star weapon rather than a limited signature weapon. Aureate Zenith can also serve as a four star option for players who have access to it.
The major thing to remember is that Jingran benefits unusually heavily from the HP provided by his signature weapon. If you are using another Broadblade, you will need to compensate through your Echo stats.
Best Echo Set: Lamp of Nether Road
Jingran’s best Echo set is the five piece Lamp of Nether Road Sonata.
The set is practically designed around his mechanics. Its HP increase helps him reach his desired Max HP, while its additional effects improve his shield related mechanics, Critical Rate, and Fusion damage.
For Jingran, there is little reason to build around a conventional Fusion DPS setup when Lamp of Nether Road directly supports the mechanics that make him different from other Fusion characters.
Best Main Echo
Jingran’s recommended main Echo is:
Phantom: Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis
This Echo is particularly useful because it provides bonuses to Fusion DMG and Heavy Attack DMG, matching the two most important offensive components of Jingran’s kit.
If you are farming a Jingran Echo set, this should be one of your main targets.
Best Echo Stats
Jingran’s Echo configuration can look unusual compared with a traditional DPS.
A recommended setup is:
4 Cost: CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate
4 Cost: CRIT DMG / CRIT Rate
1 Cost: HP%
1 Cost: HP%
1 Cost: HP%
This creates the 4-4-1-1-1 configuration recommended by current Jingran build references.
The important part is that the 1 Cost Echoes should prioritize HP%. Jingran is not simply stacking HP because he needs to survive. His HP directly feeds into his offensive mechanics, making HP% significantly more valuable to him than it would be on most DPS characters.
For the two 4 Cost Echoes, use CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG according to your overall Crit ratio.
If your Crit Rate is too low, use a CRIT Rate main stat. If you already have sufficient Crit Rate from your weapon and substats, a CRIT DMG piece can provide more damage.
The 50,000 HP Goal
One of the biggest numbers to remember when building Jingran is approximately 50,000 Max HP.
Current post-release build testing consistently recommends building toward this threshold because Jingran’s kit gains substantial value from his HP scaling. This also explains why an HP% main stat on your Cost 3 Echoes is so important.
For a conventional Fusion DPS, you might instinctively reach for Fusion DMG Bonus on your Cost 3 Echoes. With Jingran, however, additional HP can provide multiple benefits simultaneously because his kit converts that HP into offensive bonuses and other effects.
So, when farming Echoes, don’t automatically throw away an HP% piece simply because it does not look like a traditional DPS Echo.
Recommended Substats
For substats, your general priority should be:
CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG > HP% > Heavy Attack related value > Energy Regen > ATK%
The exact order can change depending on your weapon and current stats, but the basic principle remains the same: do not build Jingran like a normal ATK based Broadblade DPS.
HP% is particularly valuable because of how many parts of Jingran’s kit interact with Max HP.
Energy Regen is also useful for making his rotation smoother. Current build references suggest around 120% to 122% Energy Regen as a practical target rather than an absolute requirement.
Skill Upgrade Priority
Jingran’s Forte Circuit should be your first priority because his major Heavy Attack mechanics are tied to it.
A recommended upgrade order is:
Forte Circuit → Resonance Liberation → Resonance Skill → Basic Attack → Intro Skill
His Forte Circuit and Resonance Liberation have the greatest impact on the damage portion of his rotation, while his Intro Skill can be left for later when resources are limited.
If you are short on materials, focus on the skills that directly contribute to his enhanced Heavy Attacks before investing heavily into his lower priority abilities.
Best Jingran Teams
Jingran benefits from teammates who can provide shields, Heavy Attack buffs, general damage amplification, or sustain.
His current premium team is:
Jingran + Iuno + Shorekeeper
Iuno is particularly valuable because her kit can provide shields and buffs that line up extremely well with Jingran’s Heavy Attack focused gameplay. Shorekeeper then provides healing, Crit related benefits, and general team support. This is especially useful because Jingran’s 0 DEF makes reliable sustain much more important than it would be for a conventional DPS.
Another strong option is:
Jingran + Iuno + Mornye
Mornye can fill the support role while Iuno handles much of the setup Jingran wants. This is a useful alternative if you do not want to use Shorekeeper on this team.
For players who want to build around Fusion damage, another option is:
Jingran + Lupa + Mornye
Lupa provides Fusion oriented support while Mornye supplies additional team utility. This setup is particularly attractive for players who already have a developed Fusion roster.
There is also a more accessible Heavy Attack focused option:
Jingran + Mortefi + Baizhi
Mortefi can provide Heavy Attack support and coordinated attacks while Baizhi supplies healing and additional team utility. This team will not provide the same premium setup as Jingran, Iuno, and Shorekeeper, but it can be useful for players working with a less specialized roster.
How to Play Jingran
Jingran’s rotation is centered around building Qi and spending it on his enhanced Heavy Attacks.
A simplified rotation is:
Support setup → Jingran Intro Skill → Resonance Liberation → generate Qi → enhanced Heavy Attacks → Resonance Skill → additional Heavy Attacks → Outro
The exact rotation changes depending on your teammates, but the fundamental idea stays the same. Your supports should complete their buffs and setup before Jingran takes his extended field time.
Once Jingran enters his damage window, focus on generating and spending Qi efficiently rather than immediately swapping away.
Current rotation references place his Intro Skill, Liberation, Qi generation, Heavy Attacks, and Resonance Skill into a sequence designed to maximize his enhanced Heavy Attack window.
Common Jingran Build Mistakes
The biggest mistake is building ATK instead of HP. Jingran may be a Broadblade user, but treating him like Jiyan, Calcharo, or another traditional ATK based character will leave a significant amount of his kit unused.
Another mistake is ignoring shields. Jingran’s mechanics interact heavily with shield generation, and his 0 DEF makes taking direct hits especially dangerous. A reliable shielder can therefore be much more valuable to him than a generic offensive support.
Finally, don’t sacrifice all of your Crit stats just to reach the HP target. The goal is to reach the HP requirements that make his kit function properly while still maintaining a healthy Crit ratio and enough Energy Regen for comfortable rotations.
Final Build
If you want a simple checklist for your Jingran build, this is the setup to work toward:
Weapon: Thousandfold Deliverance
Element: Fusion
Weapon Type: Broadblade
Role: Main DPS
Echo Set: 5-piece Lamp of Nether Road
Main Echo: Phantom: Myriad Snare: Rustfire Chassis
Echo Layout: 4-4-1-1-1
4 Cost: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
1 Cost: HP%
HP Goal: Around 50,000
Energy Regen: Around 120% to 122% as a practical target
Skill Priority: Forte Circuit → Resonance Liberation → Resonance Skill → Basic Attack → Intro Skill
Premium Team: Jingran + Iuno + Shorekeeper
Alternative Team: Jingran + Iuno + Mornye
Fusion Team: Jingran + Lupa + Mornye
Accessible Team: Jingran + Mortefi + Baizhi
Final Thoughts
Jingran is one of the more unusual DPS characters Wuthering Waves has introduced because his build completely changes the way players normally think about their Echoes. Instead of simply chasing ATK and Fusion DMG, his build revolves around reaching a high Max HP total, maintaining strong Crit stats, generating shields, and turning Qi into devastating Heavy Attacks.
The Lamp of Nether Road set and Thousandfold Deliverance give him the most straightforward path toward his intended playstyle, while Iuno and Shorekeeper currently provide an especially strong premium team around him. Players without those characters can still build Jingran effectively with alternatives such as Mornye, Lupa, Mortefi, Baizhi, and other compatible supports.
If you already pulled Jingran, the biggest thing to remember is simple: HP is not just defensive for him. It is part of his damage. Build around that mechanic, keep his shields active, manage his Qi, and let his Heavy Attacks do the rest.
