Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2 is almost here, and HoYoverse has given Proxies plenty to look forward to.

During the Version 3.2 Special Program, titled “Their Secret Histories,” HoYoverse revealed two new S-Rank Agents, a brand-new Agent Specialty, new story content, returning Agents, free outfits, new events, an update to Operation Bagel, Agent enhancements, and several quality-of-life improvements.

Version 3.2 is scheduled to launch on September 9, 2026, bringing players deeper into the ongoing Roscaelifer storyline.

Here’s everything you need to know from the latest Zenless Zone Zero livestream.

Version 3.2: Their Secret Histories

The next major update is officially called Their Secret Histories.

The story continues following the events surrounding Roscaelifer and the mysterious manipulation of Bangboo.

The Proxies and their allies will travel to Vyrium, a special zone within the Shrouded Reef, as they continue investigating the strange mutated power affecting them. The investigation eventually reveals that Roscaelifer, which appeared to be secure, has been quietly infiltrated by TOPS.

At the same time, a shipment of Porcelloy from Flint Workshop goes missing. This brings Claret and Roxy into the investigation, eventually leading them toward a secret research facility connected to Helios Academy.

The story also involves Lindverne Sunbringer, Administrative Director of the Airspace Patrol Department, who asks Claret to investigate clues surrounding Porcelloy and the remains of Girtablullu. As the investigation develops, players will uncover connections involving a mysterious classmate, a long-lost friend, and secrets that Sunbringer has kept hidden for years.

This means Version 3.2 isn’t simply introducing two new Agents. It appears to be another major step forward for the overarching Season 3 storyline.

Meet the Flint Workshop

One of the biggest introductions in Version 3.2 is the Flint Workshop.

The faction is represented by two new S-Rank Agents:

  • Claret
  • Roxy

Claret serves as the head of Flint Workshop, while Roxy is her assistant and chief smith.

The two characters aren’t simply new additions to the roster. Claret is also the first playable character associated with an entirely new Agent Specialty.

Claret Introduces the Armorer Specialty

Claret

Rank: S-Rank
Attribute: Electric
Specialty: Armorer
Faction: Flint Workshop

Claret is the headline character of Version 3.2 because she introduces the game’s new Armorer Specialty.

According to HoYoverse, the Armorer Specialty is designed around a combination of offensive and defensive capabilities and introduces new mechanics involving Maim and multi-Crit.

Claret’s combat revolves around building up Gash on enemies. Once enough Gash has been accumulated, Claret can trigger Maim, which deals additional damage and increases her Laceration DMG.

Her scaling is also different from what players may be accustomed to from traditional Attack Agents. Claret’s abilities scale with DEF, making defensive stats an important part of her offensive build. Her CRIT mechanics are also unusual. Claret can take advantage of CRIT Rate beyond 100%, converting the excess into her new multi-Crit mechanic. This means players will have a completely different stat goal to consider when optimizing her build.

Claret’s kit also allows her to convert some of her starting CRIT DMG into CRIT Rate, further emphasizing the importance of carefully balancing her offensive statistics.

The Armorer Specialty Adds Counter Assist

The new Armorer Specialty isn’t simply a new label. Armorer Agents receive access to Counter Assist, allowing them to respond to certain enemy Control Skills and push enemies back.

This gives the new Specialty a defensive component while still allowing the characters to maintain an aggressive playstyle. Claret will be the first character to demonstrate how this new Specialty works in actual combat.

Roxy Joins the Roster

Roxy

Rank: S-Rank
Attribute: Wind
Specialty: Stun
Faction: Flint Workshop

While Claret introduces the new Armorer Specialty, Roxy takes on the more familiar role of Stun Agent. Roxy is the chief smith of Flint Workshop and specializes in Wind-based attacks.

Her gameplay centers around a mechanic called Eyes of the Storm. When Roxy holds her EX Special Attack, she creates a tornado and forms an Eye of the Storm. Additional Eyes can then be gathered and detonated to create a larger tornado. Her Ultimate takes this even further, creating multiple tornadoes before unleashing a powerful area-of-effect attack against enemies in front of her.

For players looking for another high-end Stun Agent, Roxy could become one of the more interesting additions to the roster.

Version 3.2 Banners

The livestream also confirmed the banner lineup for the update.

Phase One

Claret

Claret’s exclusive Signal Search will debut during the first half of Version 3.2. Her signature W-Engine is Crimson Thirst.

Nangong Yu Rerun

Nangong Yu will return alongside Claret during the first half.

Her Exclusive W-Engine will also receive a rerun. This gives players an interesting decision between investing in the brand-new Armorer or picking up a returning character.

Phase Two

Roxy

Roxy will headline the second half of Version 3.2.

Her exclusive Signal Search is titled “Cindernight Respite.” Her signature W-Engine is Crimson Moon Casket.

Promeia Rerun

Promeia will also return during the second half, along with her Exclusive W-Engine. This gives players another opportunity to obtain one of the returning S-Rank Agents from the previous version cycle.

Free Angels of Delusion Outfits

One of the biggest surprises of the livestream was the announcement that the Angels of Delusion are receiving a new outfit series.

The three characters receiving outfits are:

  • Aria
  • Nangong Yu
  • Sunna

Their outfits are titled:

  • Aria: Cuteness Loading
  • Nangong Yu: Heartfelt Support
  • Sunna: Delusions in Business

Even better, these outfits can ultimately be obtained for free.

How to Get the Free Outfits

Version 3.2 introduces a 14-day check-in event called “Surprise Screening Plan.”

By completing the required check-ins, players can select one of the three Angels of Delusion outfits.

Another outfit can be earned through the limited-time event “Clink, Clank, Pinball Knight!”

Players will work with Kahkiboo to create an artistic pinball machine, and completing the event’s Challenge Mode allows players to claim another outfit through the Angels Support Operation page.

The third outfit will become obtainable through an event in Version 3.3, meaning players can eventually complete the entire set without purchasing the outfits directly.

This is easily one of the most player-friendly additions revealed during the livestream.

New Version 3.2 Events

Several events will arrive throughout Version 3.2.

Surprise Screening Plan

The 14-day login event gives players an opportunity to earn one of the Angels of Delusion outfits. It also provides the usual collection of Version rewards.

Clink, Clank, Pinball Knight!

This event combines the Angels of Delusion with a pinball-themed activity. Players will work alongside Kahkiboo to construct a unique pinball machine. Completing its Challenge Mode unlocks another free outfit.

Diary of an Orbie Parent

This virtual pet-raising event focuses on taking care of an Orbie. Players can expect additional rewards for participating in the event.

Shadow Chase Showdown

The HIA is also hosting a new combat event. Shadow Chase Showdown introduces a series of combat challenges, with rewards including Polychromes and upgrade materials.

Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel Gets an Update

Version 3.2 will also expand Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel.

The mode is receiving a new season update with additional content and progression options.

The update includes:

  • New Z-Rank valuables
  • New character Gear
  • Advanced challenges
  • Server-wide rankings
  • Season mission resets
  • Additional seasonal inventory
  • New Proxy accessories
  • New Armorer-related gear

The new characters will also be integrated into Operation Bagel through their own exclusive gear and content. The update also increases the challenge level for high-risk content, giving veteran players more difficult objectives to tackle.

New Armorer W-Engines

The Armorer Specialty is also receiving dedicated equipment.

Two new W-Engines were highlighted:

Catty Luck

An A-Rank Armorer W-Engine.

[Lunar] Semiluna

A B-Rank Armorer W-Engine.

These will be available through the relevant channels and the gadget shop, giving players additional ways to build the new Specialty.

Agent Enhancements

Another interesting part of the livestream was the introduction of Agent Enhancements. HoYoverse demonstrated the system with Koleda, allowing players who own the character to log in and power her up through the new system.

This appears to be part of HoYoverse’s broader effort to revisit older Agents and give them additional value rather than allowing them to fall permanently behind newer characters.

The system could become particularly interesting if future updates expand Agent Enhancements to more characters.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

Version 3.2 also includes several smaller improvements. One particularly useful change involves Perfect Assist.

In future versions, enemy attacks will provide clearer visual indicators:

Gold flash: The attack can be countered with a Defensive Assist.

Red flash: The attack cannot be countered with a Defensive Assist.

This should make combat easier to read, particularly during encounters where several enemy attacks happen in rapid succession. The Beginner Guide is also receiving an update to make the early-game experience easier for newer players.

Version 3.2 Login Rewards

Players who log into Zenless Zone Zero during Version 3.2 will receive a cumulative total of:

10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons

The Encrypted Master Tapes can be used for Agent Signal Searches, while Boopons are used for Bangboo-related pulls. These rewards are separate, meaning this isn’t simply a free 20 Agent pulls.

Why Version 3.2 Could Be Important

Version 3.2 isn’t simply another character update.

The introduction of the Armorer Specialty could have a significant impact on how players approach team building.

Claret’s DEF scaling, Maim mechanic, and ability to use CRIT Rate above 100% create a very different build philosophy from conventional Agents. Roxy, meanwhile, provides another powerful Stun option, while the Nangong Yu and Promeia reruns give existing players opportunities to strengthen their rosters.

The story is also moving into another important part of the Roscaelifer arc, with TOPS, Flint Workshop, Helios Academy, and the Airspace Patrol Department all becoming connected to the investigation.

Community Reaction

The initial reaction to Version 3.2 has been largely focused on the sheer amount of content coming with the update.

The introduction of a completely new Specialty is particularly interesting because it gives Zenless Zone Zero another way to differentiate characters beyond the existing Attack, Stun, Support, Anomaly, and Defense roles.

Players are also excited about the free Angels of Delusion outfits, especially because two can be obtained during Version 3.2 and the final one will become available through Version 3.3.

The rerun lineup is another major discussion point.

With Nangong Yu returning alongside Claret and Promeia returning alongside Roxy, players now have to decide whether to spend their resources on the new Armorer and Stun characters or save for future releases.

The livestream’s quality-of-life improvements have also received attention, particularly the clearer Perfect Assist indicators and the continued expansion of Operation Bagel.
