Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.1 introduced a new S-Rank Agent who has quickly become one of the most interesting Ice damage dealers in the game: Sigrid de L’Azur.

A member of the Airspace Patrol Department, Sigrid is an Ice Attack Agent designed to stay on the field and deliver powerful combo-based damage. Her gameplay revolves around entering her Aerial Patrol Spear state, building into her multi-stage spear attacks, and taking advantage of large Critical Rate bonuses from her Core Skill.

That last point is especially important when building her. Sigrid receives so much CRIT Rate from her kit that you can devote much more of her build toward CRIT DMG, ATK, and Ice DMG instead of chasing additional CRIT Rate.

Here’s how to build Sigrid for Version 3.1.

How Sigrid’s Gameplay Works

Sigrid’s Core Skill is the most important part of understanding her build.

She can enter Aerial Patrol Spear after using the fourth hit of her Basic Attack or an EX Special Attack when she isn’t already in that state. Once active, she gains access to a stored use of her Converging Spear attack. Her Converging Spear has three stages, allowing Sigrid to charge the attack for increasingly powerful strikes.

This creates the basic gameplay loop:

Enter Aerial Patrol Spear → charge Converging Spear → use EX Special/other attacks → refresh the state → repeat.

During Stun windows, Sigrid can take this even further with Formation Breaker, giving her an opportunity to unleash her strongest attacks while the enemy cannot retaliate.

Best W-Engine for Sigrid

Knight’s Extolment

Knight’s Extolment is Sigrid’s signature W-Engine and her best-in-slot option. It provides a massive 48% CRIT DMG secondary stat at maximum level and works directly with the attacks Sigrid uses most frequently. Hitting enemies with her Basic Attack or the heavy attack of her EX Special Attack generates Battle Edge stacks.

At two stacks, Knight’s Extolment activates Bonechill, allowing Sigrid’s damage to ignore a portion of the enemy’s Ice RES. This is an excellent match for Sigrid because her Core Skill already provides a huge amount of CRIT Rate.

In other words:

Sigrid gets CRIT Rate from her kit → Knight’s Extolment gives her CRIT DMG → her damage output becomes much easier to optimize.

Best Alternative W-Engines

Severed Innocence

Severed Innocence is one of the strongest alternatives for players who already own it. It provides CRIT DMG and has effects that complement Sigrid’s attack-heavy playstyle. Current build analysis places it close to her signature option.

The Brimstone

The Brimstone is another strong 5-Star alternative. Rather than focusing on CRIT DMG, it provides ATK and rewards repeated attacks, making it a good choice when you don’t have Sigrid’s signature W-Engine.

Starlight Engine

For players looking for an accessible A-Rank option, Starlight Engine is a solid choice. It provides ATK and can increase Sigrid’s ATK after a Dodge Counter or Quick Assist.

Best Drive Discs for Sigrid

Sigrid’s damage is heavily concentrated in her Basic Attack, particularly her Converging Spear attacks. Because of this, the best Drive Disc setup should directly enhance her Basic Attack damage while taking advantage of the large amount of CRIT Rate supplied by her Core Passive.

Best 4-Piece Set: Dawn’s Bloom

Dawn’s Bloom is currently Sigrid’s best overall 4-piece Drive Disc set.

Its bonuses are particularly well suited to Sigrid’s gameplay:

2-Piece: Basic Attack DMG +15%

4-Piece: Basic Attack DMG +20%. When an Attack Agent uses an EX Special Attack or Ultimate, Basic Attack DMG is increased by another 20% for 25 seconds. Repeated activations refresh the duration.

This is an excellent fit because Sigrid’s Converging Spear attacks count as Basic Attacks, meaning Dawn’s Bloom directly increases a major portion of her damage.

The 4-piece effect also works naturally with her rotation. Sigrid can activate her EX Special Attack or Ultimate and then take advantage of the additional Basic Attack DMG increase during her subsequent spear attacks.

Recommended Setup

4-Piece Dawn’s Bloom

2-Piece Branch & Blade Song

Branch & Blade Song is a particularly strong partner because its 2-piece effect provides 16% CRIT DMG, which is exactly the offensive stat Sigrid wants to prioritize after accounting for the enormous amount of CRIT Rate she receives from her kit.

Drive Disc Main Stats

For the main stats, the recommended setup is:

Disc 4

CRIT DMG%

Disc 5

Ice DMG Bonus%

Disc 6

ATK%

This setup takes advantage of Sigrid’s built-in CRIT Rate while maximizing her offensive scaling. Current build guides consistently recommend CRIT DMG on Partition 4 and ATK% on Partition 6.

Sigrid Substat Priority

Your general substat priority should be:

CRIT DMG > CRIT Rate > ATK% > PEN

However, there’s an important caveat with CRIT Rate.

Sigrid’s Core Passive can provide up to 66% additional CRIT Rate. Current calculations therefore put her practical stat-screen CRIT Rate target around 33.8% before that passive is taken into account. Going substantially beyond that can result in wasted CRIT Rate once her Core Passive is active.

In other words, don’t blindly stack CRIT Rate.

Instead, aim for enough CRIT Rate to consistently reach the effective cap during Sigrid’s active state, then focus your remaining rolls on CRIT DMG and ATK%.

Recommended priority

1. CRIT DMG
2. CRIT Rate until approximately 33.8% on the stat screen
3. ATK%
4. PEN
5. Flat ATK

This allows Sigrid to make better use of the enormous CRIT Rate boost already built into her kit.

Skill Priority

Sigrid’s Core Skill should be your first priority.

Recommended order:

Core Skill > Basic Attack > Chain Attack > Special Attack > Assist > Dodge

Her Core Skill provides the CRIT Rate and mechanics that her entire damage rotation revolves around. Her Basic Attack is then extremely important because her Converging Spear gameplay is tied directly to it.

If you’re short on resources, prioritize the abilities that directly contribute to her primary damage loop.

Best Sigrid Teams

Sigrid has an important team-building requirement.

Her Additional Ability benefits from having a Stun or Support Agent in the squad, providing a substantial damage boost. Current guides recommend including at least one of these specialties rather than building a team entirely around Attack Agents.

That makes Sigrid’s ideal team structure:

Sigrid + Stun + Support

Team 1: Sigrid + Norma + Sunna

Sigrid

Main DPS

Norma

Stun / team support

Sunna

Support / off-field damage

This is currently one of the strongest recommended Sigrid compositions.

Norma is particularly valuable because she can build Daze while also providing team buffs and a longer Stun window. That extra time is extremely useful for Sigrid because she wants to fit her charged spear attacks into the enemy’s vulnerable period.

Sunna provides additional buffs and off-field contribution without competing with Sigrid for field time.

Basic rotation

Norma builds Daze → Sunna applies buffs → enemy becomes Stunned → Sigrid enters → Formation Breaker → Converging Spear combo → EX Special → Ultimate

This team lets Sigrid take maximum advantage of her burst window.

Team 2: Sigrid + Von Lycaon + Sunna

If you don’t have Norma, Von Lycaon is an excellent alternative.

Team

Sigrid + Von Lycaon + Sunna

Lycaon provides reliable Stun capabilities and is particularly valuable because of his synergy with Ice teams. Sunna then provides the support Sigrid needs to maximize her damage.

This is one of the better alternatives to the Norma composition.

Team 3: Sigrid + Lighter + Sunna

Lighter can also fill Sigrid’s Stun slot.

Team

Sigrid + Lighter + Sunna

Lighter offers Stun utility and can help create the vulnerable windows Sigrid needs to unleash her strongest attacks. Current team recommendations specifically list this combination.

Team 4: Sigrid + Dialyn + Soukaku

Another alternative is:

Sigrid + Dialyn + Soukaku

This composition gives Sigrid the Stun/Support requirement while maintaining a more accessible team structure for players who don’t have the premium Norma/Sunna combination

Should You Pull Sigrid?

If you enjoy Ice DPS characters, Sigrid is absolutely worth considering.

She’s particularly attractive if you:

• Want a new on-field Ice DPS
• Enjoy combo-heavy characters
• Have Norma or another strong Stun Agent
• Have Sunna or another Support Agent
• Want to build around the Roscaelifer cast
• Prefer characters that reward proper rotation management

She is less appealing if you already have a fully invested Ice carry and don’t particularly enjoy Sigrid’s on-field playstyle.
