Genshin Impact Version 7.0 has officially opened the gates to Snezhnaya, and one of its newest 5-Star characters is Odette, a Cryo Sword user built around the game’s new Stellar Glimmer reaction system.
Unlike a traditional Cryo DPS, Odette is primarily an off-field sub-DPS and support. Her main purpose is to enable Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl, deal damage while off-field, and increase the team’s Stellar reaction damage.
If you’ve pulled Odette and want to get the most out of her, here’s how to build her.
Odette’s Role and Playstyle
Rarity: 5-Star
Element: Cryo
Weapon: Sword
Role: Off-field Sub-DPS / Stellar Reaction Support
Odette is designed to spend relatively little time on the field. Her Elemental Skill is the centerpiece of her kit, allowing her to establish her off-field presence and contribute Stellar reaction damage while another character takes over as the main DPS.
Her kit is particularly valuable because she can enable both of the currently available Stellar reactions:
- Stellar-Conduct: associated with Cryo and Electro
- Stellar Swirl: associated with Cryo and Anemo
If both types of Stellar Radiance are active, Stellar-Conduct takes priority for Odette’s own Stellar damage.
This makes team building extremely important when using her.
Best Weapon for Odette
Whitelake Frostfeather
Whitelake Frostfeather is Odette’s signature Sword and her best overall weapon.
The weapon provides Crit Rate while also improving Odette’s offensive capabilities and Stellar reaction damage. Current build guides consistently place it at the top of her weapon options.
If you’re trying to maximize Odette’s personal damage while also improving her contribution to Stellar-focused teams, this is the weapon to aim for.
Best Alternatives
If you don’t want to spend Primogems on her signature weapon, there are several viable alternatives.
5-Star options:
- Absolution
- Azurelight
- Freedom-Sworn
- Primordial Jade Cutter
4-Star options:
- Emberwell
- Finale of the Deep
- Harbinger of Dawn
Among the 4-Star choices, Emberwell is particularly attractive because it is craftable through Snezhnaya content.
For players who simply want a strong, accessible weapon, Finale of the Deep is another practical alternative.
Best Artifact Set for Odette
4-Piece Heart of the Furnace
Heart of the Furnace is the artifact set you should ultimately farm for Odette.
The 2-piece effect provides ATK, while the 4-piece effect further improves Odette’s offensive capabilities and, more importantly, provides a substantial Stellar Glimmer reaction damage bonus for the party.
That teamwide effect is especially important because Odette isn’t just trying to maximize her own damage. A significant part of her value comes from making the rest of the team’s Stellar reactions stronger.
Important Note
You only need one Heart of the Furnace user on the team. The set’s relevant team buff does not stack, so putting it on another character alongside Odette wastes the second copy’s potential.
Odette Artifact Stats
For the main stats, the current recommendations are:
Sands
ATK%
Goblet
ATK%
Circlet
CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
Your Circlet should depend on which Crit stat you’re lacking. If you’re struggling to reach a reasonable Crit Rate, use a Crit Rate Circlet. If your Crit Rate is already healthy, switch to Crit DMG.
How Much ATK Does Odette Need?
One of the most important goals when building Odette is reaching approximately 3,000 ATK.
Her kit contains multiple ATK-based scaling effects, and reaching around 3,000 ATK allows important portions of her passive bonuses to reach their maximum values.
A practical target is therefore:
~3,000 ATK
After reaching that threshold, you can focus more heavily on improving your Crit ratio rather than endlessly stacking ATK.
A reasonable starting benchmark is around:
- 2,500+ ATK
- 60%+ Crit Rate
- 160%+ Crit DMG
With weapon effects, artifact bonuses, and team buffs included, substantially higher Crit values are possible.
Odette Talent Priority
Odette’s Elemental Skill should be your primary investment.
Recommended Priority
Elemental Skill > Elemental Burst > Normal Attack
Her Skill is responsible for much of her off-field damage and Stellar reaction utility, making it the most important talent to level. Her Burst should still be leveled, but it generally isn’t as important as her Skill. Her Normal Attack can be left at a lower level if you’re using her primarily as an off-field character.
Best Odette Teams
Odette has two primary team archetypes: Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl.
The strongest team for you will depend on which DPS characters you own.
Team 1: Sandrone Stellar-Conduct
Sandrone + Odette + Yae Miko + Alyosha
This is one of the strongest currently recommended Stellar-Conduct compositions.
Sandrone
Acts as the primary on-field DPS.
Odette
Enables Stellar-Conduct while providing off-field damage and Stellar reaction buffs.
Yae Miko
Provides the Electro application necessary to consistently interact with Odette’s Stellar-Conduct mechanics.
Alyosha
Provides additional utility and completes the composition.
If you don’t have the recommended Alyosha investment, Qiqi is listed as an alternative in current team recommendations.
Team 2: Wriothesley Stellar-Conduct
Wriothesley + Odette + Yae Miko + Nicole
This is another option for players who don’t have Sandrone.
Wriothesley provides the on-field Cryo presence while Yae Miko supplies Electro application. Odette turns the relevant reaction into Stellar-Conduct and amplifies the team’s Stellar damage.
Nicole fills the remaining support role.
Team 3: Cyno Stellar-Conduct
Cyno + Odette + Yae Miko + Nicole
Cyno can also serve as the team’s on-field damage dealer.
This composition makes good use of Odette’s Stellar-Conduct functionality while allowing Cyno and Yae Miko to remain active contributors to the team’s damage.
Best Stellar Swirl Team
Yumemizuki Mizuki + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Sucrose
If you want to build around Stellar Swirl instead, Yumemizuki Mizuki is currently one of Odette’s strongest partners.
The team uses:
- Yumemizuki Mizuki as the primary damage dealer
- Odette as the off-field Cryo/Stellar enabler
- Cryo Traveler for additional Cryo application
- Sucrose for Anemo utility and crowd control
Current team guides specifically recommend this composition for Stellar Swirl.
Should You Pull for Odette?
Odette is particularly valuable if your account already has characters that take advantage of Stellar-Conduct or Stellar Swirl.
She’s worth considering if you:
- Have Sandrone
- Use Yae Miko in reaction teams
- Play Wriothesley
- Want to build Stellar-Conduct teams
- Want to experiment with Stellar Swirl
- Need a powerful off-field Cryo character
- Want a flexible Snezhnaya-era support/sub-DPS
She is less attractive if your roster doesn’t currently benefit from Stellar reactions.
It’s also important to remember that Odette doesn’t provide healing or shielding, so her teams still need a source of sustain unless the content or composition makes it unnecessary.
Final Verdict
Odette is much more than another Cryo Sword character.
Her real strength comes from her ability to enable, amplify, and participate in the new Stellar reaction ecosystem while spending very little time on the field.
For the most straightforward build, aim for:
Weapon: Whitelake Frostfeather
Artifact: 4-Piece Heart of the Furnace
Sands: ATK%
Goblet: ATK%
Circlet: CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG
Substats: CRIT > ATK% > EM / ER
ATK Goal: Around 3,000
Talent Priority: Skill > Burst > Normal Attack
If you’re building a Stellar-Conduct team, Sandrone + Odette + Yae Miko + Alyosha/Qiqi is one of the strongest places to start. For Stellar Swirl, Yumemizuki Mizuki + Odette + Cryo Traveler + Sucrose is another strong option.
Final Thoughts: Subscribe to The Gamer’s Cut
Odette is one of the most interesting additions to Genshin Impact’s Version 7.0 roster. Her off-field playstyle, Cryo application, and connection to Stellar-Conduct and Stellar Swirl give her a role that goes far beyond simply dealing Cryo damage.
Whether you’re saving Primogems for Whitelake Frostfeather, farming the perfect Heart of the Furnace set, or putting together your first Stellar-Conduct team, building Odette correctly can make a huge difference.
