The Wuthering Waves 2.3 Anniversary Livestream just wrapped up, and there’s a ton of exciting content coming our way when the update drops on April 29, 2025. From new characters and events to quality-of-life improvements, here’s everything you need to know.

New Characters: Zani and Ciaccona

Two new 5★ Resonators are joining the roster:​

• Zani: A Spectro Gauntlet user who utilizes Spectro Frazzle stacks to deal damage.​
• Ciaccona: An Aero Pistol user who leverages the Aero Erosion mechanic.​

Zani’s banner will be available in Phase 1, starting April 29, alongside her signature weapon, Blazing Justice. Ciaccona’s banner and her weapon, Woodland Aria, will follow in Phase 2.

Anniversary Resonator Convene Banners – Limited Character Selector

A major highlight of the anniversary update is the introduction of the Anniversary Resonator Convene Banners, which allow players to select a specific limited 5★ Resonator to target. These banners are divided into two phases:​

• Phase 1 (starting April 29): Features limited characters such as Jiyan, Yinlin, Zhezhi, Xiangli Yao, and Phoebe.
• Phase 2 (date TBA): Will include Jinhsi, Changli, Carlotta, Roccia, and Brant.​

Players can choose one target 5★ Resonator from the featured pool and freely switch between them at any time during the event. The banners follow the same rules as standard limited banners, including shared pity with other limited Resonator and Weapon banners.

Anniversary Events and Rewards

To celebrate the game’s first anniversary, several events and rewards are on the horizon:​

• Your Summer Will Never Wither: A flagship event featuring a new story.​
• Other Events: Including Cube, Cubic and Cubie, Cubie Derby, Memory Travelogue, Its Carneval Time, Gilded Nightmarket, and Beyond The Waves: Rinascita. ​
• Login Rewards: The Gifts of Grand Reunion event offers 5 Radiant Tides and 5 Forging Tides just for logging in. ​

Quality-of-Life Improvements

Several enhancements are coming to improve the gameplay experience:​

• Boss Fights: No more cooldowns; challenge bosses instantly after claiming rewards.​
• Graphics: Ray-Tracing and 120 FPS support extended to more GPUs, including certain AMD and Intel models.
• Echo Customization: A new item called Modifier allows customization of Echo main stats.​
• Battle Pass: Updated to include Modifiers at certain tiers.​
• Pre-download: Available for mobile devices starting with version 2.3.​
• Glossary Feature: Clickable links in the story to quickly access explanations of in-game terms.​
• PC Optimization: Download size optimization for easier file management.
