HoYoverse kicked things into high gear on August 29, 2025 with the Luna I livestream for Version 6.0, and I’ll say this straight: it might just be the most jam-packed, hype-delivering stream in Genshin history. Between the lore dive, Nod-Krai, Lunar-Bloom, and anniversary surprises, it didn’t just deliver – it landed with style.

A Livestream That Delivered Across the Board

The stream aired globally with live subtitles on YouTube and Twitch—timing was tight and the pacing was electric. It was named Luna I to mark the start of the Song of the Welkin Moon arc, setting the tone for a full-scale world expansion.

I don’t want to echo fan hype, but comments did nail it, calling it “one of, if not the best livestream in Genshin History.”

Code Drop, Concert Vibes, and Anniversary Splendor

The stream handed out three redeem codes, each securing 100 Primogems and bonus supplies. It’s live now but expire September 1 midnight UTC-4.

They also premiered a stunning Nod-Krai concert, with Maestro Robert sharing behind-the-scenes insight. It was cinematic, emotional, and exactly the sort of musical hype we need.

And this being the fifth anniversary, they didn’t just tease – they rewarded, handing out Intertwined Fates, a free standard 5-star, and more. Solid flex.

New Characters, New Mechanics, New Region

They dropped the veil on Nod-Krai, a frost-and-moonlit region dripping in lore, Lunar-Bloom magic, and Frostmoon Scions. It looked breathtaking.

Characters announced:

  • Lauma: Dendro catalyst, Lunar-Bloom mechanics, open-world talents like half-deer metamorphosis
  • Flins: Electro polearm Lightkeeper with spooky lantern vibes and map-based utility
  • Aino: Free Hydro Claymore user with exploration bonuses

Banner structure:

  • Phase 1: Lauma + Nahida
  • Phase 2: Flins + Yelan + boosted Aino

oL Changes That Turn Grind into Fun (or At Least Keep It Less Painful)

This might be the most significant QoL wave Genshin’s had since launch:

  • Flat 60 Condensed Resin Cost: now triple rewards for 60 resin, easing the farming pressure.
  • Domains Unlocked for One Week: when a new 5-star banners goes live, weapon and talent domains are playable without restrictions for launch week.
  • Fourth Substat Preview on Five-Star Artifacts: see what you’ll roll without spending XP or Mora to level.
  • Masterless Stella Fortuna: dupe C6 five-star characters now grant this item to push any character’s level cap to 100, even retroactively for past pulls.
  • Adventure EXP from Explore Efforts: tracking Oculi and world exploration contributes meaningful EXP.
  • Treasure Compass Upgrade: now filters and highlights chests, Oculi, and clues in Nod-Krai.
  • Enhanced “Test Run” Feature: replay friendly tutorials for character skills and claim rewards immediately if previously completed.
  • Battle Pass Rewards Improved: region-specific specialties selectable and Stardust shop limits raised.
  • Co-Op Difficulty Adjusted for easier casual play.

Final Take

The Luna I livestream did what most content drops can’t – it fired and fixed. Between Nod-Krai lore, Lunar reactions, new characters, anniversary gifts, and meaningful QoL improvements, it stands out as one of the most impactful reveals ever.
