I’ve spent hours refining my build for Phainon, and here’s everything I’ve nailed down so you can ride his full potential in Version 3.4.
Who Phainon Is
Phainon, dubbed “The Deliverer,” is a Physical Destruction Path five‑star hyped up as a hyper‑carry DPS. He’s the ninth Chrysos Heir and a Flame‑Chaser whose kit revolves around stacking Coreflame, triggering an ultimate where his allies vanish and he solos the fight. Think Kevin Kaslana-lite but with his own flair.
Core Build Components
Relics
- 4‑piece Wavestrider Captain – grants Crit DMG + on-hit buff stacks that boost his Ultimate by 40%.
- Alternative: Scholar Lost in Erudition – more crit rate and skill/ultimate damage.
Planar Ornament
- Arcadia of Woven Dreams – perfect synergy since Phainon fights alone during his Ultimate. Four stacks give around +36% damage.
- Backup: Rutilant Arena – solid universal crit/stat boost.
Stats Priorities
- Body: Aim for Crit Rate → Crit Damage
- Boots: Speed (if supports are slow) or Attack% otherwise (target ~160 SPD for key supports)
- Sphere: Physical Damage Boost
- Link Rope: Attack%
Sub‑stats: Crit Rate to 100%, Crit Damage 150–180%, then Attack% and Speed
Light Cones
- Top pick: Thus Burns the Dawn (signature) – ignore DEF + SPD boost.
- Alternatives:
- On the Fall of an Aeon – easy free‑to‑play ATK buff
- A Trail of Bygone Blood – solid 4★ crit and skill/ult bonus
- 4★ freebies: Good Night and Sleep Well or Eyes of the Prey
Trace Investment
Focus on:
- Skill (max out first)
- Ultimate
- Talent / passive such as Bide in Flames (max for buff intake boost)
Team Setup
Phainon thrives with support characters that buff him and generate Coreflame. He enters Ultimate solo, but keeps all pre‑buffs, so prep is critical
- Dream 4‑man team:
- Phainon
- Sunday (turn‑advance/support)
- Cipher or Bronya (energy + SPD buffs)
- Robin or Tingyun (more turn/energy)
- F2P friendly:
- Remembrance Trailblazer + Tingyun + Yukong or Ruan Mei
How to Play
- Open with buff/support skills from Sunday/Bronya/Cipher to stack Coreflame.
- Once fully charged, unleash Phainon’s Ultimate – allies depart, buffed Phainon solos.
- He self‑heals and hits Physical Weakness, making him reliable across content.
Pro tip: support SPD around 160 ensures buff sequence is fast, or stack Phainon’s speed if supports lag behind.
Final Thoughts
Phainon is one of the most straightforward but rewarding hypercarries we’ve gotten in a while. Stack him with the right relics, light cones, and fast buffs, and he absolutely dominates. I’ve been using him in Memory of Chaos and even Pure Fiction, and once he enters his Ultimate, he can carry without a healer or tank. He’s genuinely that good.
