Cartethyia just dropped with the Version 2.4 update in Wuthering Waves, and after diving deep into her kit, I can confidently say this: she’s an absolute monster when built right. She’s a 5★ Aero Sword resonator who thrives on HP-scaling damage and elegant, high-skill burst windows. Here’s everything you need to know to get the most out of her.

How She Works

Cartethyia fights in two forms: her base form, which stacks erosion through quick slashes and aerial recall attacks, and Fleurdelys, her burst mode unlocked via Resonance Liberation. Her damage revolves around building erosion stacks, then detonating them with her devastating Blade of Howling Squall attack.

She also has some of the coolest animations in the game right now. Seriously—her sword shadows alone are reason enough to main her.

Best Weapons

Top pick:
Defier’s Thorn – this is her signature weapon and pretty much tailor-made. It boosts HP and Aero damage, and it punishes eroded enemies hard.

Alternatives if you’re unlucky (like me sometimes):

• Red Spring – decent Crit Rate and helps boost basic attack output
• Emerald of Genesis – provides crit rate and energy regeneration
• Guardian Sword – budget-friendly 3★ option with HP scaling

Best Echo Sets & Stats

Set to aim for:
Windward Pilgrimage (5-piece) – get the 4-4-1-1-1 cost spread. This set is designed for her—flat Aero damage boost, plus even more buffs when she hits eroded enemies.

Main Echo to equip: Reminiscence: Fleurdelys
It gives her huge Aero boosts and a Windcleaver-style special attack that synergizes perfectly with her skill flow.

Stats to prioritize:

• Main stats: HP% and Crit Rate/Crit DMG
• Substats: Crit Rate = Crit DMG > HP% > Basic Attack DMG > Energy Regen

Team Comp Tips

Best synergy? Ciaccona and Aero Rover.

• Ciaccona helps apply erosion faster
• Aero Rover boosts her erosion stack cap and enhances overall Aero output
• Shorekeeper is also a solid pick for added buffs or if you don’t have Ciaccona yet

Even with just Aero Rover and Shorekeeper, you can make a 44111 echo build work great.

Skill Leveling Order

If you want her damage to spike fast:

1. Resonance Liberation (her ult)
2. Forte Circuit
3. Resonance Skill
4. Basic Attacks
5. Intro Skill (least important)

Aim for 115–120% Energy Regen to keep those burst windows consistent.

Rotation Flow

1. Open with Ciaccona → ult + concerto
2. Swap to Aero Rover/Shorekeeper → apply buffs
3. Bring in Cartethyia → build erosion stacks
4. Activate Fleurdelys mode → spend stacks in a huge burst
5. Rinse, repeat, melt everything in sight

Once you master this flow, she feels like a beautiful dance between burst and buildup—and every time you land her finisher, it’s incredibly satisfying.

Final Thoughts

Cartethyia isn’t your average slash-and-go DPS. She’s layered, elegant, and rewards smart play and good timing. With the right echoes and team support, she can hit insane numbers while looking stylish doing it.
