If you had Lost Soul Aside marked on your May calendar — then I have some news. The stylish, fast-paced action RPG that took the gaming world by storm with its indie origins and jaw-dropping gameplay has officially been delayed to August 29, 2025.

It stings, but this delay might actually be a good thing.

The Story So Far

Originally a one-man project inspired by Final Fantasy XV and Devil May Cry, Lost Soul Aside grew into a fully-fledged title under Ultizero Games and Sony’s China Hero Project. Since then, the game has gained a loyal following for its fluid, high-speed combat and its moody, mysterious world.

After years of trailers and teasers, fans were expecting the May 30 release to finally deliver. But this week, the devs announced they need just a few more months to “further optimize visuals and gameplay performance.”

Why the Delay?

Let’s be real: the modern game dev cycle is brutal, and releasing an action RPG of this caliber without proper polish is a fast track to backlash. With expectations sky-high, the team wants to make sure the game actually runs smoothly — and that the aesthetics they’re known for shine on both PS5 and PC.

From what we’ve seen in previews, combat is blisteringly fast, bosses are massive and cinematic, and traversal feels agile and intense. So yeah — if an extra 90 days gives us fewer bugs, better frame rates, and a smoother launch, we’re cool with waiting.

What to Expect

  • Lost Soul Aside looks like a love letter to hack-and-slash RPGs.
  • Combat blends swordplay, teleportation, aerial juggling, and a transforming dragon-blade companion.
  • Story details are still under wraps, but the world screams dark sci-fi fantasy with sleek anime vibes.

It’s stylish. It’s ambitious. It’s made with heart. So while it’s disappointing to wait a bit longer, this game might just be one of 2025’s dark horse hits — especially now that it’s getting the polish it deserves.
