It’s time to gather your crew. Monaco 2 has officially launched, and it’s everything fans of the original could want—and more. Released on April 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the game expands on the heist formula that made the first Monaco a cult classic.
Visually, Monaco 2 moves away from the top-down pixel aesthetic to a stylish, semi-isometric 3D look, while keeping that jazzy, film-noir flair. The soundtrack once again delivers the sneaky, high-tension vibes that defined the first game, this time with even more dramatic swells and dynamic shifts that respond to player actions.
Gameplay-wise, Monaco 2 introduces new gadgets, refined stealth mechanics, and larger maps that encourage both coordination and improvisation. The cast of characters is more diverse, with new specialties that allow for creative team compositions and emergent gameplay moments.
Multiplayer is where Monaco 2 truly shines. Whether you’re playing couch co-op or online, every heist becomes a story—a misstep, a heroic rescue, a perfectly-timed escape. It’s chaotic, it’s clever, and it’s addictive.
New game modes, such as Time Heist (a roguelike timed escape challenge), and Shadow Mode (a no-kills stealth run), give players a fresh experience beyond the core campaign. Developer Pocketwatch Games also promises mod support and community maps by the summer, making this one a long-haul favorite.
