Capcom has officially announced that Street Fighter 6 will be launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the console’s release date. This marks a significant expansion of the game’s availability, bringing the latest installment of the iconic fighting series to Nintendo’s next-generation platform.
The Switch 2 version of Street Fighter 6 is set to include all content from the base game, along with additional features tailored for the new hardware. Players can look forward to enhanced graphics optimized for the Switch 2’s capabilities, as well as exclusive modes that take advantage of the console’s unique features.
One of the standout additions is the support for local wireless play, allowing friends to battle it out without the need for an internet connection. Additionally, the game will utilize the Switch 2’s Joy-Con controllers in innovative ways, including a “Gyro Battle” mode that introduces motion controls into the classic fighting gameplay.
For collectors and fans of physical editions, Capcom is releasing the Street Fighter 6: Years 1–2 Fighters Edition for the Switch 2. This version bundles the base game with all characters and stages from the first two years of DLC, providing a comprehensive experience right from the start.
In celebration of the game’s launch on the new platform, Capcom is also introducing a line of Street Fighter 6 amiibo figures. These collectibles will offer in-game bonuses and are expected to be available alongside the game’s release.
