The September 2024 PlayStation State of Play was packed with exciting updates and reveals for PS5 and PS VR2 fans. One of the headliners was Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, set to launch this November with stunning visual improvements, bringing Aloy’s world to life like never before. Fans of Astro Bot were also treated to the announcement of free DLC, which will introduce new speedrun levels and a collection of bots, including characters from Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade.
In a throwback for classic game enthusiasts, the Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver series is making a comeback with remastered versions of both the first and second games, scheduled for release on December 10, 2024. The remaster promises to maintain the soul of the original games while enhancing graphics and gameplay to suit modern consoles.
One of the more intriguing announcements was Metro Awakening, a VR-exclusive entry in the Metro franchise, coming on November 7. Set in the familiar post-apocalyptic universe, it introduces a new story and characters while making full use of the immersive PS VR2 technology.
Several other games were showcased, such as The Midnight Walk, a new horror game from the creators of Lost in Random, and Hell is Us, a Soulslike action-RPG slated for 2025, promising a dark, atmospheric experience.
Overall, this State of Play focused heavily on a variety of genres, catering to a broad audience while spotlighting both remastered classics and innovative new titles!
